Our Story
Why TunaBoots?
We specialize in large inflatables and interactive design. TunaBoots is a company led by Genevieve Hildebrand-Chupp, a Portland-based interdisciplinary artist with a background in sculpture, textiles, and electronics. The company aims to push interactive design and technology in textiles and bring it to the public. Our work seeks to create relationships between people and the world by animating materials with creature-like qualities. We hope to facilitate respect for all objects and creatures and imagine the world differently.
Fun Fact: the name TunaBoots comes from a miscommunication through the telephone when I was little and later became a household amusement. Reminds me to accept to absurdity in life.
Custom Work
Make your dreams come true.
Tunaboots has experience in building custom work for events and spaces. Our work flow is creating rough concept drawings from client meetings. We then produce 3d models to define scale and form. From there, we create patterns and schematics and begin fabrication.
We can work with you to create sewing patterns, 3d assets, electronic systems and more.
